Where Geopolitics, Policy, & Industrial Performance Converge

Resources Now is a strategic advisory firm for boards, investors, and executive teams navigating the intersection of geopolitical risk, policy change, and industrial strategy. The firm works with leaders navigating geopolitical disruption, energy and resource security, policy-driven structural change, and the strategic transformations these forces demand.

Operating across energy, natural resources, critical minerals, and industrial sectors, Resources Now brings together geopolitical intelligence, conflict economics, and strategic advisory capability,  translating the forces reshaping global markets into decisions that hold.

Selective by design, engagements are focused on high-stakes contexts where competitiveness, resilience, and long-term value depend on strategic precision.

Kruthika A. Bala is an energy and industrial strategy leader advising boards, investors, and governments on competitive advantage, resource security, and system resilience in an era defined by geopolitical and economic disruption.

With over two decades of global experience, she has led strategy and transformation initiatives across the full energy-industrial value chain, including natural gas, nuclear, power systems, critical minerals, metals and mining, and advanced manufacturing. Her work focuses on enabling clients to make high-impact strategic choices and direct investment towards long-term industrial performance.

Kruthika has originated, designed, and delivered more than 200 strategy and advisory engagements in over 30 countries, influencing capital allocation, market positioning, and policy-commercial alignment for energy supermajors, global financial institutions, industrial leaders, and national governments. She is recognised for translating complex geopolitical and policy dynamics into actionable strategy for organisations operating in highly exposed markets.

As Founder and Managing Director of Resources Now, Kruthika advises boards, investors, and policymakers on industrial competitiveness, decarbonisation, and resource and energy security, including delivering economic impact assessments of energy and commodities markets in conflict and crisis scenarios, and enabling leaders to build resilient supply chains, secure access to critical resources, and execute transformation with confidence. She is a regular contributor to strategic dialogue at global industry forums and executive roundtables on the future of energy security and industrial economies.

Recent engagements reflect the breadth and depth of her current practice. Kruthika delivered a comprehensive strategy, strategic planning and transformation programme for a major gas industry association navigating the commercial and regulatory dimensions of energy security; co-authored an analysis of US coal market dynamics published by the Hamm Institute for American Energy; and co-developed a critical minerals bankability taxonomy framework and co-authored a Nuclear and SMR value chain report, both published by the Payne Institute for Public Policy at Colorado School of Mines - work that positions critical minerals financing and advanced nuclear within the broader landscape of energy transition investment portfolios.

Kruthika holds an MSc with Distinction in Energy Policy from the University of Sussex, Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) and a First Class BSc in Physics from Bharathidasan University, alongside a Sustainability Leadership qualification from Imperial College Business School. She is a Fellow of the Energy Institute, Chair of the Women's Energy Network Alliance, Executive Board Member and Head of Energy Transitions and Critical Minerals at Lean In Equity and Sustainability, a member of Policy and Research at Women in Mining UK, and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers. She was named on the Sustainability Powerlist 2025.
